Every
week we receive lots of phone calls from the general public
requiring information regarding puppy availability in our
local area, and we try the best we can to point them
in the right direction of a reputable breeder and also what
things they need to be aware of when purchasing a puppy,
regarding correct documentation etc, but unfortunately
we also hear far too many stories of people purchasing puppies
from free ads papers which were advertised as KC registered
Staffordshire Bull Terrier only to find when it reaches
six months old it already stands 25 inches high!!!
and is beginning to resemble something far from a stafford!!.
We
have even had people bring their dogs to us in order for
us to try and work out just exactly what it is!! So we have
set up this page in order to try and help prospective puppy
purchasers and make them aware of what documentation to
look for when purchasing a puppy or even an older dog. Now
there are hundreds of perfectly good Stafford's in rescue
centres up and down the country that may not be registered
with the Kennel Club but would still make a wonderful pet
for the average family that doesn't intend on showing or
breeding their dog, but if you do intend on showing your
dog and maybe in the future breeding from it then it must
be registered with the Kennel Club.
Below
I have attached some images of the correct Registration
forms from the UK Kennel Club and these are the forms you
will receive when you purchase a KC registered dog of any
breed.

The
registration document shows who the puppy is registered
to, this will be the breeder if it is a puppy
you are buying, you will have to fill in your details
and have the puppy transferred into your name, the
new owner details have to be filled in on the reverse
of the document.
The
registration certificate also shows other information
regarding the puppy such as registered name, registration
no, d.o.b. sex etc Also listed will be the sire and
dam of the puppy also there maybe some other information
on there regarding any eye tests the sire and dam
have undergone and the consequent results also any
awards or titles the parents may have. |

This
registration certificate holds exactly the same information
as the new style of certificate the only difference
being the new owner transfer details are at the top
of the form rather than on the back. |
